Who or what was your inspiration to start cooking?
Some cooking shows and my love for eating, but mostly my mom.

At what age did you start cooking? What was your initial experience like?
I started cooking when I was 4. I thought it was fun.

Why did you want to be on MasterChef Junior?
I thought I could win and it would be fun trying. I thought it may also get me closer to opening up my own bakery (hopefully with the winnings!)

What did you most enjoy about being on the show?
I actually really liked the special time with my mom and all the friends I made. It was really neat to go to LA and eat at different places, like Roy’s where I tried my first chocolate soufflé. I loved cooking with all of the awesome food!

What is it like cooking for Gordon Ramsay?
It was frightening! But he did make me feel more confident in my abilities.

Were there any catastrophes in the kitchen?

Yes, I got several little cuts all over my fingers and didn’t realize how I got them. I also second-guessed myself on the rice challenge and wish I would have went a different direction.

What’s your favorite dish to prepare?
Rich chocolate cupcakes with my signature raspberry filling and spiced whipped cream.

Where do the ideas for your dishes come from?
I learned to be creative because I didn’t have a lot of the special tools and ingredients others might have. My mom helped me learn how to make something better with what we have and put a creative twist on it, or use a different tool you wouldn’t expect to use for that (like using a vegetable peeler to take out the middle of a cupcake to fill).

What is your plan after the show?
I plan to keep on cooking/baking and practicing to compete on other shows so I can win and open my own bakery.

Do you want to someday own your own restaurant and if so, what kind of food would you serve?
I will own my own bakery someday. I plan to serve specialty coffees and scrumdiddliumptious sweet treats like tarts, pies, cakes, and especially cupcakes!

What will you do with the money if you win?
Start my own bakery!

What chef do you most want to cook with and why?
My mom, my sisters and my best friends.

Besides cooking, what other things do you like to do?
I love to do crafts, write stories, read, roller skate, I pretty much like it all!

Are you excited about watching yourself on TV?
Kind of. It is a little embarrassing and exciting all at the same time.

Would you ever star in your own cooking show?
Absolutely!
