Mom-Spot “Light” – Karen Eborall

Karen Eborall

What one word best describes your current state of mind? Why?

Excited. I love January and all of the possibilities each year lays out for me and my family.

Complete this sentence: “I blog because….

I blog because it’s a way for me to journal about me and my family. It’s gives me an outlet to write whatever is on my mind that I want to share with others.

Tell us about your “typical” day.

I’m also a WAHM, but I couldn’t check more than one box above. I help manage a Fortune 500 Social Media account. Every single day is different. There’s always something new going on.

In addition, I do contract work for a local hospital. Helping them to maintain a 12K+ page website means there’s a constant need to look at processes to see how things can run more smoothly.

I love what I do. I love that I have the flexibility to adjust my work schedule to be there for my kids when they need me at school or at home.

What term or phrase do you most over use?

There has to be a way to do …

What are 5 things/items you think moms can’t do without?

My kids are 11 and 7, so my list might be a bit different:
1. An organizer/planner
2. A best Mom friend who has your back while you have hers (it does take a village to raise your kids!).
3. A crock pot.
4. Amazon Prime (for all of those last minute items for school projects!)
5. Me time – to exercise, think, plan and reflect so that my family get the best of me.

What is the best parenting resource you would recommend? why?

Your child’s pediatrician. Ask lots of questions at every single visit and listen. I’ve gotten some of the best advice from our pediatrician. And I have a relationship with her so that I can call her if I need advice on anything.

What do you do in your downtime to relax?

I love to read, ride my bike, swim with my family and ride roller coasters!

What is your favorite part about being a mom?

All of the hugs and kisses I get from my kids.

What is a little known fact about you?

I lived in England for a year, and spent a month of that year traveling around Europe on trains with my husband.

Blow your own horn – what do you want others to know about you?

I’m passionate about things I believe in, and I like to inspire others to share that same passion. I’ve been married to my best friend for 23 years. I take my responsibilities as both a Mom and a spouse very seriously. I try to be the best me I can be each day. I’ve learned that I can only base my future on the knowledge that I have today. If I seek knowledge but don’t do anything with it, then I’m not growing as a person. So instead, I choose to seek knowledge and apply it as best as I’m able.
